5 Year Anniversary Trip...3 Months Late

We wanted to take a golf trip for our 5 year anniversary celebration trip so instead of trying to play golf in January weather we delayed our trip till March. Last weekend Chris and I took a long weekend to Barton Creek, outside of Austin. We stayed at the Barton Creek Resort and played the Fazio Foothills and Crenshaw Cliffside courses.

The weather was amazing and we had a wonderful time relaxing, playing golf, sleeping and eating A LOT.

Our past few vacations we have made it a point to seek out restaurants that have been featured on the Food Network show Diners, Drive-in and Dives. We hit two spots this trip, The Salt Lick and Maria's Taco X-press. Both were so YUMMY!

The Tree

After checking the front porch everyday for a couple of weeks the "tree" arrived on Thursday and I am pretty happy with the results!

Potty training is ON! Owen has been showing interest in the potty for a while now, but will go #1 in the potty only when he is asked if he needs to go. We are now concentrating a little more on getting him out of diapers. Each time he goes #1 he is rewarded with one skittle, when he goes #2 he gets two skittles. All was going well with this until last night. He was awake from 12am to 3 am last night, due to sleeping all day the day before because he was sick. During his 3 hour sleep revolt he wanted to go potty 2 times just to get skittles! So, what did I do? Gave my two-year-old two skittles in the middle of the night...nothing like a midnight snack!
